Rich is a professor in the Furniture Design and Woodworking Program at RIT’s School for American Crafts (SAC). He’s been teaching at SAC for 20 years. Prior to that he spent ten years as a full-time studio furniture maker. He continues to maintain an active studio, experimenting and producing both commission and exhibition work. Rich loves teaching and finds the balance between his school responsibilities and his personal work to be complementary and enhancing to both.
Rich has exhibited his work extensively throughout his career and is represented in many well-known public and private collections. He has received numerous honors, including Individual Artists’ Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Arts Council and four from the New York Foundation for the Arts..
